My
dear Mr.Ilango, founder President
Mr.Jagadhesan, Past Presidents of CODISSIA
and COINTEC, Newly elected Members of
Executive Committee and Office bearers of
CODISSIA and governing council members of
COINTEC, Presidents and Office bearers of Sister
Associations, Our Auditor Mr.Murali Mohan,
Internal Auditor Mr.Palaniappan, Special
Invitees and Fellow CODISSIANS. Good evening
to all of you.
I Thank all the members of CODISSIA for electing
me as the 22nd Presidentof this World famous,
Prestigious organization CODISSIA. Yes,
indeed after classical Tamil meet the name of
our Association has gone to world level. This
is an organization which has shown this world
WHAT TEAM WORK CAN ACHIEVE.
THE TRUE EFFORTS AND DEDICATED HARD WORK of
Past Presidents and Senior Members of our
Association has brought CODISSIA to this
level.
Our Senior members were visionaries, If
not for their sightedness, we Will not be
sitting here to day in this famous
complex. The people worked for the
betterment of CODISSIA and intern the birth and
growth of COINTEC complex, should travel with
us. We need their guidance and further
contribution to keep the rhythm in
pace.
To day, we see the world is changing so fast. We
have to set new goals and new frontiers not
only in CODISSIA but also in our professional
life. Globalisation has changed things which
we took it for granted. By all indications
Micro,Small and Medium scale units have fared
better than large Industries after
globalisation. Natural assumption being that
small units would be the first to be hit by the
Economic crisis. However, it is remarkable that
net bank credit to MSME’s showed a sharp
increase in2009-10. It rose from Rs.44000
crores in 2008-09 to Rs.1,13,000 crores in
2009- 10. This is RBI Report.
Now, we have to learn to live with the steep
increase in price of Rawmaterials, fuel and
Electricity, shortage of power and shortage of
workforce. We cannot do anything on Raw
Materials, Fuel and Electricity. But we can
correct the shortage of work force. This was
already discussed in our E.C.Meeting held on May
2010. Government of India through Ministry of
Labour and Employment, National skill
development mission to set up ITI’s and skill
development centres in Public Private
Partnership mode. On this line we are going to
bring some initiatives in coming days.
We also have to learn to manage the new taxes
like Service tax, Excise duty GST, VAT, etc.
Many laws have changed with respect to
Industry. But what we need to know is that, it
is the same for everybody and we have to be
better than others to survive and grow. I
assure you that CODISSIA will continue to play
the role for the development and growth of
industries in this region.
This new team of Office bearers will assist
you in whatever you need. I request each and
every one of you to visit CODISSIA regularly
and Whenever you are having problems please
bring it to our knowledge, we will take it to
the concerned Govt. Department and try to solve
it.
We are going to form some committees for the
development of our member industries. I request
the members to involve in these committees and
contribute to the betterment of CODISSIA.
Regularly we will conduct Seminars and
interaction meetings with Govt. Officials. We
request the members to take active part and get
benefited.
I Congratulate Mr.Ilango my President who has
completed his tenure successfully and done a
tremendous work for the past two years to take
CODISSIA to a Greater height. As a token of
appreciation, I request all the members to give
a standing ovation.
Dear Members, I also understand that I carry the
burden of expectations of each and every one of
you, which I hope to do the best of my ability
with your fullest support and help of God.
Having the team of CODISSIA is sitting with me
as a young group, with a combination of hard
work and dedication, my task should not be very
difficult.
